Brown’s Fall Notes, 2014
Summer VBS’s went well, kicking off the first week with 2 girls choosing salvation. We conducted 13 schools with 450 children attending. The summer goes so fast but is packed full of many blessings, new friendships and fruit for eternity.
Released Time Bible Classes have now begun. Scheduling went well and now we look forward to teaching the children again. Our series this year is “God’s Spirit produces...” based on the Fruit of the Spirit. Please remember to pray for wisdom as we teach and for the children’s hearts to be open to God’s working. Remember that, on the average, ½ of the children that come to our classes do not attend a church.
Support is holding up for which we thank you all for giving and praying. God continues to supply our needs. We reported in our last letter that a church has decided to help us to replace the windows in our house. They are all in now and we have a new outlook on our surroundings! Meanwhile, they have also decided to replace 3 exterior doors and some carpet. A few construction helpers from various churches have helped with the window and door installation. We are so thankful for many of you who give and help with our “physical” needs as well as the spiritual ones. We also recently had to put $800 into bus repairs.
Family. Cherie is sleeping better now that she is using a cpap machine. She awakes refreshed and has more energy for the day. Our kids and grandkids are doing well. Please continue to pray for our son-in-law, Joel, he has been sick for 5 years with no promise of healing (other than the Lord's, that it!!) and his mother has recently been diagnosed with inoperable cancer and given a short time to live.
Above all we are thankful for your encouragement and help in reaching the children. We are so blessed to have you on our team!!
Prayer requests:
1. That classes won’t have to be cancelled for weather, illness or bus problems.
2. For School personnel and parents to be cooperative.
3. For me to be surrendered to the Lord as I study and teach.
4. For lives to be changed.
5. For funds for Cherie to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed.
