“They …. fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11b
What a wondrous time of year! The joy, the family, the gifts, but are we forgetting to worship? This is my challenge to the kids in Released Time Classes. We need to give of ourselves to worship the King as we give gifts to those we love.
Classes are going well. All of our classes from last year have been rescheduled and we hope to start a new class in Paw Paw. We have contacted a pastor there who is interested and look forward to starting soon. We also have some extra time between classes in South Haven so have started a class for Home School families.
I am beginning to set up the VBS schedule for next summer. Please pray that we can hold all the VBS’s requested or find someone who can. The theme will be “The Great Escape.” The series starts with the birth of Moses and ends with the crossing of the Red Sea. Each day these stories are compared with the Life of Christ.
Our family is doing well. Please continue to pray for our son-in-law, Joel. He is seeing a Dr. at the Born Clinic but is still in extreme pain. Amy is leading a MOPS group in Grand Rapids. Aaron and Emily are now ministering in a church in Holland. Andy and Cait are continuing their ministry in the Three Rivers/Vicksburg area and Andy is working at WMU. Adam and Steena are living in Portage while Adam is working for PNC Bank and studying to be a Naturopathic Dr.
The support is holding up fairly well. At this time the Mission account is about $300 short of the desired goal for each month. Some sizable one-time gifts came in that helped the account and kept it in the black.
Prayer requests
1) Open hearts to the Gospel
2) RTBC’s won’t need to be cancelled for weather
3) Safety on the winter roads, for the bus and our vehicles
4) 2014 VBS schedule
5) Churches – attendance, need of pastors, open hearts to reach their communities
6) Support levels.
Thank you again for your faithfulness and concern for the classes and our ministry here. May God use you for His Glory this coming year.
Dean & Cherie Brown
P.S. Plan on our area’s banquet on Tuesday, March 25.
